Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I’ve put over 1,000 miles on my bike in the last year and a half that I’ve owned it. It’s held up perfectly and is always a blast to ride. I love to rip up my small college town, riding it in the streets, on the side walks, through the campuses, and down the off road recreational trails. I’m an experienced 23 year old male rider and can ride on and off road at the bikes top speed, 35mph. I find 35mph combined with the power of the motor as a whole to be the perfect combination for my application; there’s always enough there, but not too much. I can’t accurately convey how much fun I’ve had riding this bike, so I’ll just list several thoughts and tips below, both positive and negative. 1) CHECK BOLTS AFTER EVERY RIDE! This bike is seriously fast and powerful, so the bolts are bound to come loose over time. Even if you put loc-tite on them I’d still check them all after each ride. If the bike comes apart on you at the speeds it’s capable of reaching there’s a very legitimate chance you could be killed. 2) It’s not very fun on rough or technical trails. Recreational trails that are groomed and maintained are a blast, but relatively untamed woods trails (lots of roots and rocks) are not as much fun. This bike is almost 100lbs, and the trails feel very bumpy and like you’re abusing the bike. 3) If you’re going to ride it harder than a typical inexperienced 40 something year old would, I’d immediately upgrade the rear suspension. I fly down downhill sidewalks and pull up into a wheelie to smoothly transition to flat ground at the bottom, and I bent my rear subframe doing this because I bottomed out the rear suspension. I upgraded it to the 1,200lb shock and that did the trick. 4) The cruise control feature is unique and awesome. You activate it by holding the throttle speed constant for about 15 seconds. Once activated, I can stand up and hold the seat between my legs with hands behind my back and fly through the streets. Totally awesome! 5) If the bike is fully charged and I ride it until it dies I get 35 miles out of it before it completely shuts down. If the bike is fully charged and I ride it for 25 miles, I can get on the next day and get another 25+ miles out of it without charging it. This is possible even tho the bike starts at 2 bars of battery on the day of the second ride, and all rides mentioned above are done in mainly pedal assist setting 4 and on all terrains and elevations. I mention this because the 60-110 mile advertised range might seem outlandish, but I think if you were to break a full charge cycle into multiple shorter rides you could actually get that kind of range out of it, which is extremely impressive. There’s probably more I could say, but overall if you’re looking to buy a “lower end” or cheaper e-bike, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option. This thing does NOT feel cheap or low end, and if you do have any problems with it the customer service is phenomenal and will do anything to help you. I text them like I would text anybody else right from iMessage, and Xuewen (Steve) has been my only representative since my purchase. If you’re going to ride aggressive technical trials I’d get a more expensive bike, but if you’re looking to tear up the town or even simply commute, this is BY FAR the best option available. 🤟

Customer photo review of (Preorder) Alaska Pro M-520

This was the first E-bike I’ve purchased. They moved mountains to get the bike delivered on time. The bike is fast, it’s a comfortable ride. It’s a bit heavy, but that’s due to the dual batteries. The Take away, it’s was worth the price

Customer photo review of (Preorder) Alaska Pro M-520

Is a truly amazing ebike, a lot of power, long distance range, 2 batteries and they last a lot, really beautiful shiny black color, is a tall bike, nice fat tires, a big front light, buy the accessories and look much better, long mudguards, rear rack and a bag that goes on top of the rack attached, rear red tale light, 2 mirror to look back, a cellphone holder that fit any cellphone, and Freesky got a really good customer service that was with me to answer all my questions, thank you Kiki for all your help 😄 👍 . Now I'm enjoying going places, love it

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I think I've spent nearly the last 5 years on and off searching for the right ebike with the features and range I wanted within my price range. One week after discovering the freesky alaska and watching every YouTube video I could find about it I pulled the trigger and ordered it. First off I love that freesky builds tax and shipping into the advertised price and they always have a promo code to save a few bucks. I ended up using the 69 dollar first time user discount brought my price down to $1750 which is an absolute steal for what you get. This is one of the most amazing purchases I've ever made I mainly bought it to get me back and forth to work on nice days to save some money on gas and put a few less miles on my truck, but found myself itching to get out on the thing any free second I have. The Alaska is a pure thrill and putting it in pas 5 launches you pretty hard, I have now tested it on every steep hill in my neighborhood including some close to 20 degrees which it eats up for breakfast. The range...the range is insane I still haven't pushed it to its limits when I'm feeling lazy and just want to explore around my town and use throttle only a 20-30 mile cruise can still leave me with 80% no problem I love toggling thru the menu and using the wattage setting to see how much power I'm using that second and challenge myself to peddle harder and get it to zero. I recently completed a 50 mile roundtrip on flat to slightly hilly road and got back to my house with 100% left on the battery. Right now I've got 350 miles on the Alaska after 2 weeks. I expect before summers over that number will easily double. Having the freedom to just take a long weekend ride to a park and enjoy a nice quiet lunch by a lake while spending zero dollars on gas has really brought me so much joy, I cannot recommend this bike enough the freedom, the cost savings, and the exercise you can get from it is so beyond the pricetag you will not be disappointed. Not to mention there won't be a single person you'll ride by that won't compliment your Alaska 😎

Customer photo review of Pre-order Alaska Pro M-520

Man I'm telling you this is the best bike!! It gets up and goes. Nice and smooth. Looks cool. Awesome night riding. I can go on and on. Thank you free sky you made my summer feel like a kid again!

Customer photo review of Pre-order Alaska Pro M-520

Bike is amazing, lot of power, runs great and fast, with the doble suspension you fill almost nothing in the street, with the doble battery I can go places, range is crazy, I try too drain does batteries and they drain me, go 35 miles in one day and came back home with 70% of battery, this pedal assistant is another level, because with the throttle you can run from 0 to 19 miles in seconds but with the pedal assistant on 5, that bike kick you, can go 35 mph but I went 38 mph, and you do exercise and you go farther and enjoy more without killing yourself, the only thing that to my don't matter, I'm 6 foot tall, and I telling you this is a tall bike and heavy,92 pound, so get that in mind before you buy it, but for my got good high, and a lot functions, powerful and quality, I love it.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I recently purchased an eBike from Freesky Alaska, and I’m beyond happy with my experience. The team was incredibly helpful, patiently answering all my questions. A special shoutout to Mia, who was a great help throughout the process! One of the highlights was the timely delivery—they made sure I received my eBike before my annual trip to Big Sur, CA/Napa. The bike performed beautifully on the trip, and I couldn't be more grateful. Meanwhile, my buddy, who bought a different brand at a similar price point, encountered several issues with his bike during our ride. Overall, I’m very satisfied and would highly recommend FREESKY to anyone in the market for an eBike!

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I owned a motorcycle shop that did framework, motor building and machine work. So I think I'm knowledgeable enough to give you my honest opinion on this bike. The frame and the welding is impeccable. All the components are pretty much top-notch and works very well. I did compare it with another bike that my friend bought and this one is far beyond what I expected. I did have a problem with the controller but I contacted a representative and he sent me another one with no problem and it was easy to install. So I would say the customer service is excellent as the bike is also. Don't have too many miles on it right now but if something were to go awry I will edit my review. There's not much more I can say about the bike except that the workmanship is really excellent so don't hesitate if you're looking for a really good e-bike.

This is hands down the best long range electric mountain bike you can buy for the money! (-$2000) Its a perfect cross between an eMTB and eMX in my opinion. The range is relatively accurate however if you like to stay near 40mph you'll only get about 35-40 miles due to the high wind resistance. On the higher end I would say 70 if you're keeping it low 20mph and assisting regularly. The motor has enough power to drag you and your gear up almost any hill at 20+mph, assist on trails, etc. Now its no Surron or 250 so you wont be doing any throttles out of a dig but it definitely isnt underpowered. They use a quality, serviceable, and proven 1200w (2000w peak) MXUS hub motor in the rear, even after immense output and loads still maintains under 120 degrees F temps I cant imagine its struggling. I did experience when testing it on a very hot day and doing extreme uphill off road riding, the over temp protection for the controller cut power till the controller was cool again (5 mins coasting). The wiring did get somewhat hot but couldn't burn you. The front fork is highly adjustable with stiffness and lockout adjustments that fit most riders, but overall from what im hearing from other riders it may be a weak point as some have had it fracture or break with heavy use. It was extremely stiff out of the box and had to break in for proper travel and rebound. Overall I really enjoyed the front suspension only complaint being the preload adjustment knob is tough to turn, besides that seems very solid to me. The brakes are 180mm rotors with 4 piston floating calipers. For the weight this is expected to carry and the speed capable id really like to see a 203 or 220 rotor for additional stopping force. The hand levers are good and seem to be well adjusted and bled from the factory. The brakes are hard to get hot, especially since it has the auto cut feature where it cuts power when the brakes are applied. I don't foresee having any brake fade issues. Overall the brakes are alright kind of just mid, any less and it'd be too little, any more and I might get a little too bold haha. The wheels and tires are useable. Nothing special here just regular extruded aluminum 26x4 with a multi surface tire and inner tube. I'm 160lbs rider and I run 15psi which seems to do well on all terrain as I ride city/Trails 20+ miles every day. The Rear suspension is one of the few questionable things on this bike. I'm not a huge fan of the fact that it doesn't have any adjustability. Being a 160lb rider as mentioned before this makes the rear a bit stiff. Its stiff out of the box anyway and definitely needs 50 miles to break in. A 650lb or 750lb shock might do better, just remember the leverage arm is 2:1. I feel they could have used a higher quality component here truly somewhat lacking. The frame and battery inlays are absolutely flawless without a doubt. All of the welds are picture perfect with no splatter, and the paint is a really nice metalic flake. However, I do wish it was powder coated as that is much more durable. Get a chain Guard/ PPF or suffer like the rest of us. The pedals are just pedals, bent them fairly easily on a fall just because its a heavy bike. easy to grab a rock on trail and bend one if you're not careful. Crank and Mid box are solid, haven't taken it apart yet to put in the new controller but I will shortly. For the abuse its taken so far with no problems I have no doubts it will hold up to much much more. Havent had any kickstand problems as others apparently have? Maybe they updated it for 2024? Shifter and derailer are quality brand, but mid selection overall I assume to cut production costs. I like that they're Shimano so that they're easily replaceable however I feel a better model could have been used. You may need to tune it when you receive your bike as i noticed mine could have shifted better. I adjusted it no problems anymore. Headlight is great, its directional and focused in a bean like a cars so that it casts on the road in front of you but doesn't blind everyone around. HUGE advantage. Dont waste your money on the accessories unless its the metal luggage rack, you can get better stuff on amazon. Speaking of which if you do decide to order one, PLEASE dont order through Amazon as its a 3rd party seller and is not backed by amazon if something goes wrong. My order ended up costing me more than the bike did in time and lost wages because of the 3rd party seller on amazon. Once again I beg of you please stay away from the amazon seller. He ships with FedEx and because of FedEx hazardous material rules they wont deliver it to you, you'll have to retrieve it from a distribution center. The screen, controlls, throttle, and handlebars in general are very nice, easily viewable/changeable, and same as most other e bikes. Seat is comfy enough although could be better for long road rides. NOW for the FUN part. I was curious as to the quality and quantity of the individual cells in that batteries. I questioned whether the capacity was truthful however upon further inspection I didn't really believe what I found. The 2024 model actually has 37AH of capacity total! More than advertised! The upper battery is composed of a brigade of 3.7V 3500mah Samsung 35E 18650 cells absolutely jam packed to the brim not room for a single more battery cell. In case you're not familiar, that's about the highest commercially available grade of 18650 cell. The battery manufacturing cost isn't much less than they're sold for I guarantee that. The 25A BMS is appropriate for the motor so no complaints at all there. Charges in 6 hours. This is where things get kind of awesome. I mentioned that the 2024 model has an updated lower battery from the previous years. This is where it gained 3AH over the previous year. Instead of 18650 cells, the battery manufacturer decided to use the newer, higher capacity, higher output 3.7V 4500mah 21700 Cells. Once again jam packed with no space wasted. 30A controller on this battery pack as its larger and likely carries more of the load respectively. Sufficient for the motor/ controller. I'm not sure what brand battery cell is used in the lower battery but I suspect its the Molicell P45B or similar. These battery packs are absolutely TOP OF THE LINE, especially with the integrated frame design. The locking cylinders perform well and its a very nice security feature. Lastly, its unfortunate that the motor controller isn't capable or programmed for Regenerative braking as that would further extend the range likely around 10 percent. Not terrible to pedal without battery but its not easy. Very stable at high speed, extremely capable. It loves the trails powering through almost anything you throw at it. Admittedly not for a small rider need to be 5'6" or better to be comfortable. This thing beats traffic x2 and is 10x more fun, I'm never going back to a carrrrrrr.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

This is my fourth e-bike, and the best one to date. It’s also the most expensive to date as well, but… after three e-bikes in the sub $1K price range, I am reminded that yes, you do in fact get what you pay for. This bike has more range than any bike I’ve ever heard of, realistic range to boot. The build quality is great, even the welding. It shifts & rides smooth, and looks good doing it. I do miss the step thru frame from my Jasion Thunder, but that’s the only thing I miss. To date I have upgraded the tubes & tires, the seat, added a handlebar riser and stem riser for better riding position. I swapped the thumb throttle for the twist version. I added upgraded paddle grips, a phone holder, and a Bluetooth speaker for my music. Everything about this bike tells you why it punches way above its price point. I’m a happy customer and I love this bike! Now, if that damned unlocked controller would just ship already! It’s been almost a month since purchasing and it still hasn’t shipped from China.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

This is a great bike! First and foremost I bought this bike for range primarily. I have only put the initial charge on both batteries. I’ve got about 60 miles so far, and three bars showing. The bike is built well, including the welds. I like the improved 4 piston brakes. I have done upgrades, and they are a twist throttle, upgraded paddle grips, handlebar post extension, handlebar extension, rear cargo bag @ panniers, a Bluetooth speaker for tunes, a phone holder, and a bag of the front forks. I have the upgraded DNM Air shock & the unlocked controller both on the way from Freesky. I added Flat-Out to the existing inner tubes, only because the tires that came with the Alaska Pro are actually decent tires. I’ve got HEB Viperess tires, heavy duty HEB inner tubes, tire liners, and more Flat-Out. I think I’m gonna run the factory tires first a bit. All in all the bike is solid, and I had to do less to get it road ready that others I’ve assembled. The derailleur was closet to properly adjusted, but it stuck in gears 3-6 shifting up & down. I lubed everything and it would still hang up in 3-6. So, upon closer inspection ton I found a kink in the shifter cable. A quick swap-out with a teflon coated cable in which I keep extras on hand. It shits like butter now, and with a suspension seatpost & Cloud Nine seat, the bike is a joy to ride. I can ride farther & faster on this bike, and with the dual batteries range anxiety is gone.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I purchased this bike in Dec of 2024, it has been awesome, my son totally crashed it and broke the rear linkage of the frame, not Freesky's fault at all. I thought the bike was gone forever, called customer support talked to a awesome dude Horlan he got me the replacement part quickly. Put the bike together excited to go ride just to find out when mu son crashed he also broke the wires to the rear hub motor. Thought for sure this was not going to replaced. WRONG: Horlan came thru again with a new hub motor. Installed it and I am back out charging again. This company has the best customer support. I love this bike and will keep using this company for my future bikes.

Customer video review of Alaska Pro M-520

This bike is a beast, not light by any means but will get you where you want to go. I bought this bike almost 2 years ago and it has been awesome, my son crashed it and broke the rear part of the frame, I was totally bummed and thought this bike is done. I called customer support spoke to a awesome gentleman by the name of Horlan and I thought because my bike was out of the warranty period that there would be nothing they could do. Boy was I wrong Horlan ask for the serial number and Amazon receipt number, just like that within a week or two Freesky sent me a new rear end part of the frame that had broke. So I put it together and was about to go on my first ride and the bike did not move, I was so bummed. So I looked over the bike again and what I did not realize initially was when my son had crashed the and frame cracked is the at the same time it dislodged it had also snapped the wires from the harness assembly to the hub motor. So I was for sure thinking that my bike was toast, Contacted customer support again and Freesky came thru again and sent me a replacement Hub Motor I installed it and I am back on the road again. Freesky has the best customer service I have ever worked with. All companies should follow suit. I attached a video of this beast doing a single track up hill thru some gnarly foliage, the video doesn't give it justice but this was a steep hill climb. Also attached nice photos of the bike. I hope this review and video helps you in your decision in purchasing a Freesky product. 100% recommend this product.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

Truthfully a solid piece of machinery, I've been using this ebike for my long commutes out of town, I collected over 2,200km on my Alaska Pro on the same two batteries I was issued on purchase last year. The only things I've had to replace on the bike after all the extensive use has been the inner tube, tires and brake pads; which is amazing because that's what I would be replacing on a normal bicycle anyways!! I live in a neighborhood where bike theft is rampant, and having a bike that takes 2 different battery formats as well as weighing over 90lbs on top of doubling my bike locks has been been a successful deterrent for people with the STICKIEST of fingers (kleptomaniacs). I would get a smaller bike next time, the size of an Alaska Pro makes it difficult to move my bike inside my house for the winter seasons, but it definitely be a freesky bike all the same. The bike is very heavy though, so use caution when going downhill because your speed can exceed 60km/h very easily without the motor or pedal assist. So please use your breaks generously and wear a helmet! Your future self will thank you!!

After reviewing several e-bikes I decided to purchase the Alaska Pro. Shipping was extremely fast and the packaging of the bike was very well done. Having been a self described bike mechanic ( raised four bmx rider kids). Set up took under 1/2 hour start to charging. Appears to be robust, has smooth power assist and at my age (68 ) it has sparked another angle at keeping active. Enitial ride was a blast and I will update as the miles accumulate.

New to E-bikes, retired military Vet…wanted something to get my big frame outside, worry free without a fireteam partner and let me tell you, the Alaska M520Pro is an absolute beast “it’s what I call it”. I am 230lb 5”10 and PT every morning, I wanted a bike that would be a workhorse for the workout, but also dependable and rugged enough to carry myself. I wouldn’t sugar coat anything, this bike is incredible, I am so happy I did my research, and went with Freesky. Also, I had a phantom fall of the bike in my garage and my screen bracket broke, I contacted them, and they were immediate. They had a brand new screen and assembly in the mail with tracking. Folks, I kid you not, this is the bike if you want a workout, and a workhorse. I am blown away. Thanks Freesky !!

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

This my 2nd Freesky - the first one was a Swift Horse that I picked up a couple of years ago and have since given to my nephew. Upgraded to the Alaska and this bike is phenomenal! Had everything together in under 20min and the battery charges relatively quickly. I put a bunch of miles on it the first day I got it. Would absolutely recommend if you’re going to ride long distances in one shot.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

What an amazing bike. I love everything about it and don’t ever want to get off the thing. The bike looks beautiful and it’s well built. Rides like a dream. The dual battery is great with lots of power and great mileage. Me and all my buddy’s have them and we don’t stop riding and adventuring. It’s the most fun you can have. I highly recommend the Alaska pro. Don’t sleep on this bike you won’t be disappointed. Look forward to many more rides. Great job on this bike Freeskycycle. You got it right.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I have been very pleased with this bike!. I am 220 lbs and easily get over 100 miles on a charge when using an average of 2 to 3 PAS. Plenty of power and can get 37 MPH. It is well built and I am really looking forward to using it for hunting this fall.

After seeing the Alaska Pro on YouTube and reading several reviews, I decided to take a chance and purchase this on Amazon prime day. I was very surprised to receive it four days later. Especially when they said, it would take 2 to 3 weeks. As others have mentioned, it’s a fairly heavy bike. Just under 100lbs. I was very surprised on my first ride when you can actually pedal it with ease like a regular fat bike. And once I engaged the throttle, I was shocked. I’m 230lbs and it has more than enough Torque and power to accelerate me uphill and through rough terrain. And when I unlocked the throttle control in pedal mode, I got the bike up to 63.8 km/h on flat ground. This bike really moves. But you don’t feel unsafe on it. The stability and weight make it feel like you’re on a lightweight motorbike. The dual batteries on this model make it one of the longest distance e-bikes that I researched. The customer service is exceptional. My bike had a small gouge/ scratch on the fork when it arrived. To compensate Freesky sent me a Rear bike rack for free. And on top of that, they offered me a discount on some upgrades that I’m looking into. This is very rare in today’s day and age. Freesky has demonstrated that they’re a Company who genuinely cares about their customers. It’s no surprise they have an impeccable service record. If you’re looking for an E bike, don’t hesitate with Freesky. Cheers

Best bike I ever had! The double battery is great if you want to ride on PAS 5 and ride 35 mph most the time and go past 50 miles without the batteries dying out! It depends on your weight also. I weigh between 155 - 160 pounds so that helps with going the distance.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I’m gonna make the short and sweet I researched E bikes for a month Alaska pro E bike by freesky when I receive this this bike is so well built in the research I did on. It was incredible. When I received it on delivery very simple to put together the second day I drove it for 22 miles. It’s a comfortable ride. The seat is comfortable this bikes, a five star bike all day long and then some you will not be disappointed. If anything you’ll recommend this bike to all your friends I have. It’s the best looking bike on the market by far.

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit. Bit heavy and bulky when stationary but once on the move it literally glides. So far more positives than negatives.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I got an Alaska Pro M-520 in January and I love this Ebike. I planned on only using this Ebike for work but once I got it and took it out on a few trails, I felt it would be a waist just using it for work. I now use this this Ebike for everything and it is an awesome E-bike. I also bought the unlocked controller which is a definite upgrade and must have for all owners. If you're new to e-bikes I would wait until you get used to riding because the torque is different from a gas motor. Soon as I got the unlocked controller and installed it which wasn't difficult at all, I took it out for a ride and I got it to 40 miles an hour no problem on level ground. I also purchased the back bike rack with the Freesky luggage bag, and the comfortable seat which is a must-have for bike owners that like going on long rides. The storage bag is also a must-have if you like going on decently long rides. I haven't had no major issues and I am very grateful for Freesky E-bikes. Customer service at Freesky is also awesome. They assisted me from the very first time I got my E-bike and always gotten back to me and helped me with all my issues and concerns. Customer service is everything in a company to me so I appreciate Freesky having my back.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I was skeptical about this bike and how it was gonna ride, but it is a beast, gets me where I need or want to be. Went 42 miles on pas 3, 4 and 5 and still had 67% battery left. But this is big bike and they tell you that on the size chart, I am 6'2" and it fits me perfect, it also not light by any means, but the bike is powerful and rides super smooth. Loving it so far and have over 300 miles on it.

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I got the M-520 Pro to hit the Greenway. I have to say I am very impressed with this bike! I'm covering 30-40 miles with a 1,200ft elevation change, 12mph average and I'm only using 3-5% of the battery. This is definitely the best E-Bike on the market! I have to admit that on my first couple of runs, I didn't read to remove and turn on the larger battery... As soon as I turned on the second battery the power and range tripled.

Excellent trail machine

Customer photo review of Alaska Pro M-520

I've had this bike for a couple of days by now Here's the only tip that I had an issue with is the brake pads worn out pretty quickly and use a tire iron from a car And research honeycomb tires along with flat out small tire formula I have not got a single flat trying this combination If I had the money, I would definitely buy another one Remember, the package you receive is poor quality, so you'll need New mirrors Seat with backrest and find better cargo rack or trailer Be very careful with stripping any bolts This is not the best metal Do not lose the key card Get a longer lock you'll need it Most importantly, this is a request to the company This bike needs a reverse and a brake light kit Blinkers would be nice and do not do a wheelie This bike will body slam you and it will make you pass out Take it from me It's stronger than you.😅
